Main teacher:

Jill Maglio has been teaching circus skills to kids all over the world for many years now. Her classes are both fun and rewarding, as they are based on play and games, but also on technics that are proven to be empowering and capacity building.

Jill is an occupational therapist who has pioneered the use of circus as a form of education and therapy for multiple populations. She has worked in the public school and special needs sector, and has trained other educators and therapists in the use of circus technics as a learning tool.

Jill is involved in circus academic research investigating the legitimacy of circus as an effective and evidence based practice. She has helped develop sustainable and inclusive community circus programs, which are still active in Australia, Cambodia, and the United States.

Jill currently works 1:1 and with small groups of children aged 5-15 who receive school based occupational therapy to assist them in meeting academic goals.

Lotta Zachrisson is an international travel writer and yoga instructor, who together with Jill produced the first Flow Arts Retreat in Tulum in 2013. It was her love of travelling, beautiful beaches and a healthy life style that drove her to undertake this project.

For the Holistic Circus Therapy Summer Camp she will do most of her work behind the scenes. If you email us with any questions, Lotta will be the one sending you a quick reply. She is sad to not be able to come to St. John for the camp itself, as her travels are taking her to Sweden at the same time, but she will follow all the fun through Carolyn's photography.

And part of the production team...

Carolyn Babs is a local to St. John where she is a henna artist, illustrator, and photographer. She enjoys raising her two small children on the island's beautiful beaches and creating fun adventures for them in nature, which have been recently inspired by her love for kids photography.

She will be assisting Jill in the camp with the kids and will be photographing them as well.  After the camp, the photographs will be made available online for download.
